Correctly Analyze The Word

Today’s Bible Reading:
Deuteronomy 2:1-3:29, Luke 6:12-38, Psalm 67:1-7, Proverbs 11:27

2Ti 2:15  Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

Hey, that’s not part of our reading today!  This scripture should ALWAYS be part of your Bible reading – Correctly Analyzing The Word of Truth.  In today’s reading we will see how someone could get off track when reading the Word and believe something that can hinder them.  See, our enemy can use the Word to steal, kill and destroy you.  He even tried it with Jesus, so he wants to do it to you too.

Luk 6:20-23   And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.   Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.   Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.   Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

God doesn’t want you poor and hungry.  He is speaking to people who are not yet Born Again.  Jesus said that the Holy Spirit was upon Him to preach the gospel to the poor.  He became poor so that you can be rich (2 Cor 8:9).  Look in Psalms 112:

Psa 112:1-10 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.   His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.   Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.   Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.   A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.   Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.   He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.    His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies**.   He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.   The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 is very important scripture concerning this topic.  It is God telling us of the blessings of obedience.  Obedience is a place where God becomes Jehovah Jireh – Your provider:

Gen 22:13-14   And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.   And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Let’s look at some more of what we read today that needs to be “Correctly Analyzed”.

Luk 6:24-26  But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.  Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.  Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Jesus is still speaking to the lost.  It can be very easy to read these scriptures and believe that living in poverty and debt is a blessing.  Do not believe this lie.  Know that Everything that God has is for you (Prodigal Son).  Ask God for help!  This is part of your covenant with him, just like when your spouse asks for the checkbook, you give it to them.  Pay your tithes, give to people, lend to them and expect nothing in return.  This is our part of Obedience.  This opens the door for Your Provider to “Open the Windows of Heaven and Pour YOU out a Blessing”.

We understand that money is not is not the topic in this section of scripture (Luke 6:20-38).  The Law of Giving & Receiving is the topic.  Understanding this Spiritual Law is essential when praying for Finances, Forgiveness, Love etc..  We do talk a lot about money because poverty and lack is a common tool of the enemy to limit our witness to the lost.   If he can keep us broke and confessing our lack, blaming it on the economy, or “The Man”, always pointing the finger, you can see that this is a bad witness.  The lost know you’re a Christian and if they hear you complaining, your words of doubt and unbelief, then why would they want anyting to do with Jesus?

**NOTE:  Your "Enemies" are not people, but Sickness, Death & Poverty from the Curse of the Law in Deut. 28

I have never really thought of it that way! I am definitely going to watch what I "complain" about. It makes so much sense!
