Today’s readings are
2 Samuel 18:1-19:10, John 20 1:31, Psalm 119:153-176, and Proverbs 16:14-15
John 20:9
For until then they
still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.
The resurrection of Jesus is one of the central truths of
the gospel. Why did Jesus have to rise
from the dead?
It proves he is the Son of God.
It shows the truth of scripture.
It is proof of the judgment on the wicked.
It is the foundation of Jesus gift of the Holy Spirit.
Also it is foundation for his interceding for the believer.
It proves that believers will have a heavenly home.
This is not an exhausted
list of what happened when Jesus rose from the dead. Let us not take for granted what Jesus did
for us when he rose from the dead. What
honor he deserves for all that he has done for us.
