Romans 6:1-4
6 Well then, should we keep on
sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of
course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or
have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we
joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with
Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious
power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
Sin’s power
is broken.
We need to
begin to be sanctified. Sanctification
is the abolishing of sin or getting rid of sin in our lives. This is a process that doesn’t happen over
night. Little by little we get rid of more
and more sin in our lives. This is the
reason that God gave us grace. So that
when we are in the process of sanctification and we mess up we have his grace
of forgiveness and the power to not quit and give up. His Grace is not so we can keep sinning and
live our old lives that we so desperately wanted to get out of.
We died and
were buried with Christ when we asked Jesus to become Lord of our lives. Just like when Jesus was raised from the dead
by God we too were raised from the dead and can live a new life with Jesus.
Be a new
person in Christ! The old man is dead! Praise God!
