Today’s
Bible Reading:
Deuteronomy
4:1-49, Luke 6:39-7:10, Psalm 68:1-18, Proverbs 11:28
God
just keeps building, in Luke 6, on what we were studying in yesterday’s blog
about giving forgiveness, love and finances.
He is still speaking to the Lost in these verses. A lot of the Lost speak about Christians as “Hypocrites”,
but we must realize that they have been blinded by the log in their eye as they
try to point out the spec in ours. Yes,
we do make mistakes and feel like a hypocrite, but just ask God for forgiveness
(1 John 1:9) as you forgive others, and move on.
We
will move on and talk about the verses in Psalms 68:1-18. But, as you know, we will have to check out
some verses in the Word that are not in today’s reading:
Isa 12:1-6 And in that day thou shalt say, I will give
thanks unto thee, O Jehovah; for though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is
turned away and thou comfortest me. Behold,
God is my salvation; I will
trust, and will not be afraid; for Jehovah, even Jehovah, is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out
of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Give thanks
unto Jehovah, call upon his name, declare his doings among the peoples, make
mention that his name is exalted. Sing unto Jehovah; for he hath done excellent
things: let this be known in all the earth. Cry aloud and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion;
for great in the midst of thee is the Holy One of Israel.
This word Salvation is so important to
us today. Remember, we learn to “Rightly
Divide the Word of Truth” from yesterday’s reading and we learn to do this
everytime we read the Word. This “Salvation”
can easily be read over in a hurry and we never really know what it means. We will study this word out of the “Strongs
Concordance” and apply it to our reading today.
If you do not own one of these concordance’s, I suggest you get one, or
you can ask Pastor Richard or myself for one.
ישׁוּעה
yeshû‛âh
yesh-oo'-aw
something saved, that is, (abstractly) deliverance; hence
aid, victory, prosperity:
- deliverance, health, help
(-ing), salvation, save, saving
(health), welfare.
This word is another name for
Jesus!!! You may have heard him called
Yeshuah in the Hebrew. Jesus is our
Salvation: Deliverance, Victory,
Healing, Prosperity and Salvation (eternal salvation). This is the “Good News” to the poor, sick,
lonely, lost, defeated and bound!
Our scriptures in Psalms 68:1-18
beautifully depict Jesus as our Salvation.
We will also look at the verses 19 & 20, because they will wrap
everything up eventhough they are on tomorrow’s reading.
Victory:
Psalms 68:1-2 - To the chief
Musician, A Psalm or Song of
David. Let God arise, let
his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the
presence of God.
Delivrance:
Psalms 68:3-6 But let the righteous be glad; let them
rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. Sing unto God, sing praises to his name:
extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of
the widows, is God in his holy
habitation. God setteth the solitary in
families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious
dwell in a dry land.
Prosperity:
Psalms 68:9-10,12 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain,
whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary. Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O
God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor. Kings
of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.
Healing:
Psalms
68:11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that
published it.
(Psa_107:20 He
sent his word, and healed them,
and delivered them from their destructions.)
Salvation:
Psalms 68:18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led
captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the
LORD God might dwell among them.
Now, check out these verses:
Psalms 68:19-20 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with
benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto
GOD the Lord belong the issues
from death.
That
is the same word Yeshua that was talked about in Isaiah 12:2. Not only does our God supply this Salvation,
but notice what it says again:
…God IS my salvation…
This IS God.
God IS Salvation! God IS Healing,
Prosperity, Deliverance, Victory and Prosperity!
How do
we apply this information? Speak
it! Say:
“Father
You Are My Salvation!”
“You
are My Victory!”
“You
are My Healer!”
“You
HAVE Prospered Me!” (Past Tense Phrase.
Its already been done.)
“You
HAVE Delivered Me! I’m not an alcoholic! I’m not addicted to anything!”
You
may be thinking “Well, that would be telling a lie.”
No,
this is speaking by Faith. Telling a lie
is when you abuse your trust in a relationship by telling someone what is not
true so you can get your way.
Romans
4:17-21 Paul is talking about the Faith of God and he uses the phrase in verse
17 “and calls those things which be not as though they were”. When Jesus told us to “Have the Faith of God”,
this is what He was talking about. The
facts may say you are addicted to something, or are sick etc., but the TRUTH in
GOD’S WORD says something very different.
It is your job to make sure your mouth is saying what God’s Word, or the
Truth says.
Truth
Trumps Facts!

Amen! I like what you said concerning a lie vs faith.
